Smiling Burt!









Hi!  Welcome to my blog!  
This is the first picture my foster mom saw of me! I was in Texas when this picture was taken.  And my foster mom saw my smile, and she decided she wanted to foster me!  And so now I am in Virginia, in my Blind Dog Rescue foster home.

I will write at least once a week until I find my forever home.

Hi everyone, and so sorry for the delay in doing a second post!  I have had some eye trouble, and finally my left eye was removed on Friday.  Now I am resting up, and waiting til I can get the stitches removed, which should be in two to three weeks. This picture was taken before my enucleation (eye removal).  Right now I look a little rough, so I am waiting to share new pictures until my surgical site has healed. I have thick curly hair which will soon cover up where my eye used to be. Stay tuned for more from me! My Left Eye is Gone!

My left eye (above). I had hyphema, which is when blood pools in the eyeball.  I was in pain! So then my left eye was removed, and I wore the dreaded cone for three weeks, and did not even complain.  And now look at me!  It has been just four weeks since my enucleation, and my surgical site is healing up so well.  My foster mom took me to the groomer once my stitches were out for a spa day, and I feel great!   The groomer told my foster mom how well-behaved I was, too.   Soon more hair will cover up where my left eye was, and I will look even better!  And, in the meantime, while my hair grows out, I am waiting patiently for my forever home.
