Sleeping Beauty!

Image
Here I am, relaxing with my foster mom on the sofa.  One of the best things I do is relaxing! And, while I am relaxing, I enjoy a belly rub, or a head rub, or a back rub!  Or all three! You can see in the bottom picture that I am missing a tooth (actually, more than one!) but I can still smile! And I am doing great, and still waiting for the just-right forever home!

My Left Eye is Gone!

Image
My left eye (above). I had hyphema, which is when blood pools in the eyeball.  I was in pain! So then my left eye was removed, and I wore the dreaded cone for three weeks, and did not even complain.  And now look at me!  It has been just four weeks since my enucleation, and my surgical site is healing up so well.  My foster mom took me to the groomer once my stitches were out for a spa day, and I feel great!   The groomer told my foster mom how well-behaved I was, too.   Soon more hair will cover up where my left eye was, and I will look even better!  And, in the meantime, while my hair grows out, I am waiting patiently for my forever home. Me, Jenny, and the Cone

Image
I had my left eye removed last Friday, and I am in the cone for a couple more weeks.  Here is one of my friends in my foster home, Jenny, who has just told me that two weeks is not so long!  That is easy for her to say, because she is not wearing a cone! But I am doing pretty well with it, and the place where my eye was is healing well. And, otherwise, I am doing fine, and still waiting for the perfect forever home! Resting

Image
Hi everyone, and so sorry for the delay in doing a second post!  I have had some eye trouble, and finally my left eye was removed on Friday.  Now I am resting up, and waiting til I can get the stitches removed, which should be in two to three weeks. This picture was taken before my enucleation (eye removal).  Right now I look a little rough, so I am waiting to share new pictures until my surgical site has healed. I have thick curly hair which will soon cover up where my eye used to be. Stay tuned for more from me! Smiling Burt!

Image
Hi!  Welcome to my blog!    This is the first picture my foster mom saw of me! I was in Texas when this picture was taken.  And my foster mom saw my smile, and she decided she wanted to foster me!  And so now I am in Virginia, in my Blind Dog Rescue foster home. Thanks so much for stopping by!  And please check back for updates.   I will write at least once a week until I find my forever home.   For more information about me, including a link to the Blind Dog Rescue adoption application, go to: https://www.blinddogrescue.org/dog/burton/
